Welcome to The Highlands School
from Mr Grant Mottram, Principal at St Edward's and The Highlands Schools

I am honoured to be the Principal of two such well established schools. The Highlands has been providing top class education in the leafy suburb of Tilehurst for the past 80 years. Our school has an excellent reputation for quality teaching, small class sizes, traditional values and a caring environment. The Highlands is unique and has a very special, welcoming feel about it.
With an outstanding record of success in ensuring pupils pass the entrance exam to their chosen grammar or independent school, we’re also big on results and take real pride in helping every child achieve their best.
Non-profit-making and excellent value for money, we have built our reputation around an environment designed to encourage learning and promote self-confidence. With traditional values and dedicated teachers, we welcome children aged from 2 to 11 into a happy, caring, secure environment. Boys aged 7 years move on to St Edward’s, the brother school to the Highlands. Both schools offer your child the very best possible start to their education.
One where teaching provides new and stimulating experiences, where treating every child as an individual results in high levels of achievement – and where each pupil accomplishes their full potential in moral and physical development as well as all academic areas.
Please take the time to browse our website, but more importantly, visit us and meet our pupils to get a real understanding of our excellent school.
