The School's curriculum is based broadly on the National Curriculum and includes French and ICT, as well as specialist teaching in PE and Music.
There are regular assessments and pupils complete the national assessments (SATs) at Key Stage 1 (age 7) and Key Stage 2 (age 11), which are externally validated.
The girls are prepared for entrance to Independent Senior Schools either by Common Entrance or by scholarship. Each year some of the girls enter the maintained secondary school system, which includes the selective entry Grammar School in Reading, where they flourish, having benefited from an excellent grounding at The Highlands.
